PAVAN WOOD WORKS

Born as a purely practical exercise in sculptural technique for creating wooden busts, the work Fenny represents an excellent example of woodcraft understood as both a creative and artisanal process. The manipulation of the raw piece of wood to its final result led to the establishment of a symbiotic relationship between the artist and the material.
The formation of the shapes followed a spontaneous evolution, challenging the stereotypical idea of the female figure—the sculpture was in fact created without an initial design. Conceived as a free creation, a careful eye will notice that the proportions of the torso are not respected, as the figure is freed from predefined canons.
The total and immersive experience in the creation of the bust is reflected not only in the attention to detail and finishing but also in the progressive definition of the human line beyond and through the geometry of the material.
